If you read those earning report you will find the proof over and over again that the small players lose market and profit , while the market is continuing expand quickly all over the world. My question is who ate those big cake ? You have growing market while those small players lost market. I think you know the answer. What I see for the future is that for the traditional UNIX players, like SUN, SGI , HWP, IBM, ...etc, their market is also in big danger!!!!!!!!!!! So, for companies like CPQ, DELL ... the limit for their market is the sky, but for traditional UNIX players, the market is shrinking. People just concentrate too much on the sub $1000 before, but remember CPQ has many product lines, the sub $1000 is just a very small portion of it.
