Gersh, I don't have freedom to build an apartment complex with my own money and tell druggies like you that you cannot live there. Ergo, we don't really have freedom, do we?

See, I do not care if you and half of North America drugs yourselves hourly until death, as long as I have equal freedom under the law to prevent you and anyone else whom I perceive as an undesirable from coming close to me, my family, my property, or my clients.

Until full freedom reigns, yes, I will demand that the government do as much as possible on my behalf to keep you and all undesirables away from me and at bay. Why? Because that is my only legal recourse.

For the record, I am not calling you an undesirable. You seem like a nice guy. You're just a druggie, and that's fine with me, but I don't want to be around that. I should have the freedom to legally avoid you and ban you or whomever I choose from my private property, by applying any standards that suit me. Likewise, you should have the same right.

Until the government stops forcing us together, neither one of us really enjoys true freedom. Understand?

Gersh wrote: Our founding fathers believed that the least government is the best government.

I strongly believe that as well, but the Founding Fathers never envisioned having a multicultural nation filled with all manner of miscreants, undesirables, and derelicts, which we have to cope with today. A representative form of limited government is the best outcome, but it is incompatible with multiculturalism. For example, gerrymandering destroys the entire process of elections in the republic by establishing a racial/ethnic quota system for Congress. Gerrymandering is a direct assault on the U.S. Constitution. The Founders never envisioned such nonsense. -ng-
