As far as I am concerned, if you wanted to receive a check for $400 from a pathological nut job, you may have had more success than you give yourself credit for. Hmmm....you mean you wouldn't make a bet that you know that you couldn't lose with the purpose of exposing a "pathological nut job"? The pay back isn't money.
