This is not a gold thread. I have merely suggested a scenario where Japanese (and you are correct other Asian economies would try either to export their troubles out or sell treasuries) Even a hint/small sell of treasuries will pull rug under the bonds (as safe haven) In addition any US recession (all agree-matter of time without stipulating when) will
undermine fundamentals behind bonds. Bonds can go up or down near term
The only relevant factor is that unlimited supply of Japanese paper (even if one tripple print is over-cannot be good for treasuries.
Back to Gold briefly-reminder it is at 13 year low. If bonds/stocks suffer new era must begin. I did not sugest that you buy Gold or Bonds
just explained my point of view as relates to Nikkei-which I view as a biggest threat to US $/market. I am very bullish on gold long term
