Not worth it. That's why the state's been losing population for decades. You're old enough to remember when NY was #1 in electoral votes (that was 1968, when NY had 43 electoral votes). As recently as 2000, NY had 33 electoral votes to TX's 32. Now NY's tied for third place with Florida at 29 electoral votes while TX is up to 38. Fourth place for NY is coming up after the next census.
