It will be interesting to see what happens visa via DEC and CPQ. I own DEc. DEC has changed the last 6 mo. It is no longer in the chip making business. INTEL bought it. It also gets royalties from INTEL now as part of settlement. It is selling its tape storage division to Cabletronics. Its service business is half of sales. So it is a systems company now allied with INTEL and using the big lead of alpha designed chips made by intel in the 64 bit solutions area using clustering NT5 servers etc. A good fit for CPQ especially with its ALPHA VISTA thrown in. I would not be a bit suprised if the rumors are true and it will be interesting to see the action in the stocks on Monday. But if I were Dell I would be in their bidding if DEC goes in play. But who knows maybe I'll end up owning CPQ on stock swap(not a bad idea).
