Good morning everyone,

We have been having a DEVIL of a time evaluting present economics of the Asian meltdown in relation to Ampex and contract(s) thereof (Maxtor, Samsung, etc.).

Gus, the little devil :), took time to answer our question on economics with good links in addition to some good teaching about two hands and an old saw :). Well, the nature of his answer (the first part) happened to reach the depths of our "soul" (the second part was most "cutting") :). Building upon the first part we thought we would share our present "look" at Ampex through our economic window learned in the School of Hard Knocks.

You can not buy a good deli sandwhich for less than $ 4,

you can not buy a box (25) of good cigars ( Fuente Hemingways) wholesale for less than $ 5 each ( $125 ) (someone had mentioned earlier that we smoke some good ... they were right.

With Christmas around the corner we can get 10 shares of Ampex for $ 30. Most christmas presents sit around for a year or two. We have acted upon this theory, and like all other christmas's we have spent toooooo much on presents (backed the truck up). Fortunatly, we bought mostly for ourselves. Gus, everybody, get your christmas shopping done.

Merry Christmas to all!!

Swamp Fox Charlie

Sal:
I read the other day where South Korea is asking for an
infusion of Cash from IMF etc.Remember what happened with
Mexico when they went down the Tubes and got the Cash Infusion.I
think the same will happen here. South Korea is more
Industrialized than Mexico and hence if they get their House
in order will do better. Governments are not going to let
South Korea go down the Tubes with the Spectre of North Korea
next door especially since there are rumours of them both coming
to the Table for Talks.
