That's right, frontier states are still drawing settlers and homesteaders while the NE is stable, settled, and civilized...

NY has gone from 43 to 29. A pretty big drop. A bunch of that could be just a failure to grow while the rest of the country did.

Native New Yorkers are leaving especially in upstate areas to be replaced by immigrants......mostly illegal. It's really obvious if you live here. Probably up to a million native NYers in the last 10 years . I'm starting to think seriously about it also.
