Yamaichi failure like atomic bomb - industry chief

Saturday November 22, 2:26 am Eastern Time

OSAKA, Japan, Nov 22 (Reuters) - A possible shutdown of operations at Yamaichi Securities Co Ltd (8602.T) would have a substantial impact on the securities industry and Japanese business in general, Goro atsumi, Osaka regional chief of the Japan Securities Dealers' Association (JSDA) said on Saturday.

I think that we can not completely ignore what's happening over there even if this little extreme. Stock markets are about EXPECTATIONS and this perception will only add to selling presure.

BTW - S. Korea is down 4% and is a headeache for the US as there is a political obligation and interest of the US to step in (another "Mexico" type bailout) As to Japan Bloomberg indicates teh NIKKEY at 16,308.

Well the world is SLOWING down as will corporate profits. The smart money is in bonds.

Bill,
you still using the same indicators you did when you started the Baron's Forecast?

Curious about the current makeup, and how they look for next week. Also, how well did they weather the sell-off a month ago?

Thanks in advance/ S.R.
