13 Week New Highs....

>>>An idea came to me upon awakening this morning - seems to me that your best way of picking stocks on the way up to 99RS would be to look at new highs over a set period of time - the repeats are bound to have
increasing RS and should get toward the 99 target! Anyone tried this on a studied basis?<<<

Judith:

I use a 13 Week New High scan...

I especially like turnaround stocks that are way off their one or two year highs that just made a 13 week high... The making of a 13 week high with positive moneyflow and positive MACD, may signal a resumption of the intermediate uptrend...

Hi Judith: i have been back testing the Stock Farmers new high program and it seems to work great.

1. must set a new high at least .5 greater than old high
with at least a 50% increase in volume over average volume and 50%
over preceeding days volume
2. works best if breaking out from a base or price gaps up
3. IBD RS must be greater than 60
4. IBD EPS must be greater than 50
4. minimum of 2 institutional owners
5. group strength is positive/improving
6.members of group are setting new highs
7.annual earnings growth greater than 35% or quarterly earnings growth growth greater than 70% or annual revenue growth greater
than 50%
8. average daily volume exceeds 80,000
9. price is greater than 7
10 float is less than 40 million

try it
i think it will find the future 99's before they have run up

good luck to all
peter

Judith--I agree. I have started to look at the new highs more systematically since starting this thread and briefly thought I saw the 99 RS's posted. But alas, IBD lists EPS's with the new highs. I knew they were secretly fundamentalists and not only in their politics. It would be nice if you could keep an eye on these and report your findings on the stocks with rising RS's. Thanks for posting, Myron
