Re: "today was the first day in several weeks... now let me guess...."

Because it is the first day in a week or so that I have been anywhere near to S.I. and had the time to reply to any of the numerous posts that are always waiting in my inbox.

No mystery.

Just always try to answer what is posted to me, (even if it takes a while).

Simple politeness.

No need to go looking for imaginary nefarious 'reasons'. :-)

Re: "Convince us of why you believe that the left has better ideas than conservatives."

How could I 'convince' anyone of something that I in no way believe anyway?

LOL!

What a great waste of time that would be!

I don't think that most people have the SLIGHTEST common concept of what 'lib' or 'con' MEANS anyway... so I hardly ever deploy such arid and pointless broad-brush single name labeling. It would be an utter waste of time.

FYI --- (hopefully for the last time) --- I take pains to point out that my PERSONAL political and social ideology puts me smack into the middle of the LARGEST single political grouping of viewpoints in America that is not yet represented by *either* of the two big political parties, the Republicans or the Democrats.

For my FISCAL views are 'conservative' (balanced budgets, low and fair taxes, etc.) while my SOCIAL views are 'liberal' (equality of rights and opportunity for everyone before the law, government should not try to tell or force people 'how to live' their lives), and on the AUTHORITARIAN/LIBERTARIAN axis I am strongly in the Libertarian camp. (No Puritanical government trying to force behaviors to match it's 'approved' norms and sanction those who don't... no genuflecting to 'Authority figures'... no 'Neo-con-ish' states of never-ending undeclared wars all around the world, etc., etc.)

As such, (and for the perhaps 20 - 30% of the American public holding very similar views), NEITHER Democrat nor Republican party comes anywhere close to a natural home.
