"Yes, so what is your point? Every single country that puts huge resources into education rises to the top.
"

Well then we should be at the top of the heap since we spend more per pupil than any other country.

As for my point you suggest that if we just provide free education to our kids and spend a lot of money we could duplicate the Danes success. But the fact is we do provide a free so called education, through high school, the most expensive in the world and it is just not working. I was trying to point out to someone like you who thinks money will solve everything, that there were other reasons which could be affecting the situation.

Now I know your answer already, Spend more money on education. That is all we need to do, and you will ignore the fact that we arlready lead the world in per pupil education. Please find another tune.

what are we paying for DC kids ? 25,000 a year, some say 40k. That's not enough ? do the Danes pay more than 40,000 per kid. I don't think so.

Adam Carolla: ‘The Government F**ks Everything Up They Touch’ Posted on February 11, 2012 at 1:49pm by Madeleine Morgenstern Print » Email »

Comedian Adam Carolla — who broke the Occupy movement down in an epic rant in November — went on a similar diatribe against big government Thursday during “The Adam Carolla Show” podcast, burned up over the announcement that Los Angeles County would be imposing a $1,000-fine on people caught throwing Frisbees at the beach:

“The beach is a great little microcosm of what is going on with this country. We’re going to save everybody because God forbid some kid could get hit with a Frisbee or someone could take in third-hand smoke or some dog could run across someone’s beach towel. Yes, it is true, we’ve eliminated any possibility of somebody being concussed by a Nerf football, but we’ve also eliminated all possibility of fun. So seriously, the beach, which used to be six pack, couple of cigarettes, a Frisbee and your dog and some tunes cranked up has now gone to turn the radio down, put the cigarette out, pour the beer out in the sand, put the dog back on the leash, put the Frisbee away and here’s a $1,000 fine.

Better or worse? By the way, I know we always think in our society, hey we’re moving along man, we’re marching toward the light. Is this f–king progress to you?”

[...]

“Who decided that it was the government’s job to protect us from ourselves? I understand the part where they protect us from Al Qaida, but the protection from the selves and they do everything for you — you guys don’t understand, the government f–ks everything up they touch. Please stop looking to them to help you.”

Content warning — very strong language:

Carolla‘s Occupy Wall Street made national headlines and was prominently featured on The Blaze and on Glenn Beck’s radio program. Carolla defended Beck when he was subsequently asked whether he thought Beck’s admiration of him was a liability, saying the media was “slanted toward the left.”

JFK, Monster
By Dr. Carlos Eire, on February 11, 2012, at 12:03 pm

Is any man's private life a reflection of his character, or of his ability to lead a nation? In the case of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, we Cubans have known for a long time that something was rotten in the Kingdom of Camelot, and that the king himself was rotten to the core. Now we have further proof of this. His betrayal of Brigade 2506 in April of 1961 was no moral hiccup, but simply another manifestation of his congenital inability to discern the difference between right and wrong. New revelations made by Mimi Alford, a former White House intern who became JFK's sex toy, have shocked even the most hardened cynics this week, including some who are die-hard liberals. Yet, even when shocked, the acolytes strain to argue that private sins of the worst sort --even cruelty -- can be excused.

In this New Republic piece by Timothy Noah, we see slicing and dicing worthy of a De Luxe vegamatic. We also get a few of the sordid details: tnr.com

If you want more sordid details, without excuses, go here: thelasttradition.blogspot.com

Warning: these pieces are not suitable for young children or recovering perverts.

Samuel L. Jackson I Voted for Obama BECAUSE HE'S BLACK
Barack Obama's politics meant nothing to Samuel L. Jackson because the "Pulp Fiction" star only voted for the president for one reason and one reason only ... because he's black.

In an interview with Ebony magazine, Jackson explained, "I voted for Barack because he was black. 'Cuz that's why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them ... That's American politics, pure and simple. [Obama's] message didn't mean [bleep] to me."

Jackson then went on to drop the N-word several times when discussing Obama, telling the mag, "When it comes down to it, they wouldn't have elected a [bleep]. Because, what's a [bleep]? A [bleep] is scary. Obama ain't scary at all. [Bleeps] don't have beers at the White House. [Bleeps] don't let some white dude, while you in the middle of a speech, call [him] a liar. A [bleep] would have stopped the meeting right there and said, ‘Who the [bleep] said that?' I hope Obama gets scary in the next four years, 'cuz he ain't gotta worry about getting re-elected."

Smacks of ... Obama needs to Black it up.
