Anyone see Cowpland on CNBC? It was on Thurs. or Fri. afternoon at Comdex, they had him in an interview for 3-4 minutes. They asked him the tough questions, which he dodged. He focused on the future plans and the hardware products, and from his answers I would say that this future is relatively far off. In any case he made sure to be very positive with each subject, and didn't say anything like "if Java fails, we're dead". I for one like this lack of candour. :)

bcoch,
<<Firms such as Hummingbird Communications Corp. have shown they can survive a shakeout.>>

And this loss from its board:<g>
Mr. Malik replaces Dr. Michael C.J. Cowpland, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Corel Corporation of Ottawa, Ontario, who has served as a
director of Hummingbird since July 1993. Dr. Cowpland has resigned from
Hummingbird's Board to devote all his time to the business of Corel Corp.
