Rampton Resource Corporation -

Positive initial findings at Virgen de Fatima

Rampton Resource Corporation RMOShares issued 58956991997-11-24 close $0.42Tuesday Nov 25 1997Mr Paul Cowley reports Positive initial geological findings have been made on Rampton's 800 hectare Virgen de Fatima property in north central Peru. This property is surrounded by Gitennes' Virgen property. Rampton is mid-way through a three week field campaign of mapping, sampling and trenching to evaluate their Virgen de Fatima property. Initial exploration has discovered a 500 to 700m wide corridor (likely an underlying fault) that passes across the Rampton property where a large plumbing system has emplaced along it, a string of iron oxide mineralized porphyry bodies and large cemented iron oxide breccia zones. This corridor belt lines up with Gitennes' auriferous trend of zones (Rio Suro-Alumbre-Centro) 1.5km to the west-northwest. Since November 7, Rampton's Virgen de Fatima has received property-wide mapping, and selective soil, rock and trench sampling by its geologists. Detailed work has been done over the two most promising altered zones, La Cruz and El Salvador. A trenching program is sampling these and other zones. Assay results are expected mid to late December from this campaign. Should results be positive, drilling is anticipated in the first quarter of 1998. Regardless of results, a second phase program of geochemistry and geophysics is planned within the promising corridor. Rampton reiterates that it has a valid and binding option which has been duly registered against title to the Virgen de Fatima property. The Peruvian Mining Registry is the national mining authority that certifies and confirms the validity of title and mining agreements in Peru. As per Peruvian law, no mining claim or mining agreement can be registered in the Peruvian Mining Registry if there is any dispute on the property. Rampton has resolved the legal title dispute and property registered its option agreement in the Peruvian Mining Registry and therefore holds the only registered option to acquire the property from the legal title holders.
