I get what you said.

It's not simply that the numbers of arrests for drugs go down.

It's the collateral crime that goes with it.

No one violently administers marijuana. So the violence isn't within the substance itself. The violence comes from turf wars and swat team raids and people trying to capture enough money for their next batch of drugs.

The drive for money causes a LOT of property crime. And causes rises in armed robbery crime.

Take those elements away and the problem is then limited to the person affected, instead of everyone around them.

That increases YOUR safety.
