Now for human interaction we just log on and hate who we want to hate because we don't have to get along with these strangers and then can log off feeling smug about ourselves. This characteristic has become transformed into a national finger pointing contest instead of thoughtful policy debate. If you read the newspapers of the past--or history books that quote extensively from primary sources--you would see that the political dialogue of the past was no more thoughtful or less impassioned than it is today.
