public schools seem to be quite a drain all by themselves and provide scant little education in major liberal cities like chicago, DC and Los Angeles.

not sure they pick off the "easiest" students - but perhaps the best qualified to actually receive and benefit from an education as opposed to being dragged down in the sewer with the drug dealers and ho's.

we should, why dumb down the smart ones by keeping them with the dredges. That's what japan, China and others do. Why don't we have enough engineers, because PS dumb down all students

Why should the only entity that receives public funding be govt schools? There are thousands if not 100s of thousands of parents who want a portion of their tax dollars to go to charter schools.
