The original thread was about authorizing the president to assassinate people without a trial, and if you think it's fine for the president to do that because someone "wants to kill", we might as well flush the whole Constitution and the concept of due process down the drain. You seem like the sort that Franklin meant when he said, "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."Gitmo is a cancer all right. But then when Obama wanted those folks tried in a US court, not a single politician wanted that trial to take place in their state. "Not in my backyard" was the general chorus. so you have any suggestions what should be done when all are madly yelling against it and when when Obama holds their "feet to the fire", they have no solution.
