How about Wall street being on the dole, or the farmers, or the military industrial complex, or the rich??

We have socialized capitalism and privatized mainstreet losses. Look at how much money Bush gave to the banks to bail them out!

How come you never mention any of that?

I agree with you about Wall St, farmers, and to some degree about the military. If I were king: I would also eliminate freddie and fannie and most govt subsidized student loans. I would privatize the TVA, WAPA, Bonneville power authority and any other electric utilities that the govt runs. I would eliminate green energy subsidies, except possibly some pure research. I would eliminate the subsidies for electric cars, which mostly go to upper middle class lefties. I would have let GM and Chrysler (and their unions) fend for themselves in a free market.

To put it more generally, I would eliminate crony capitalism, which can only happen if the federal govt is much smaller. As for the rich, most of them earned it without any govt help, and many in spite of much govt opposition. For those that got rich based on govt favoritism, you can see from the above what I think of them.

You almost got this right. In too many cases we privatized profit, and made the taxpayer absorb the losses. Freddie and Fannie are the biggest examples.
