MIMBO must be proprietary to some TA thread. I checked Alta Vista and they all point to some guy Doug R. May have to do with Momentum? As for TA, let me relate to you what I have seen using OmniTrader.

It uses TA to determine whether to go long or short. It claims to have a high success rate. For CSMA, it was a neutral, even when it started to move. I rerun tests every options expiration Friday(every four or five weeks). When I re ran the tests yesterday, lo and behold CSMA had become a long way back when it was still in the 20-25 cent range. What hindsight!! Had I not re-run the TA tests, it would still be "no position" (coming off of a short that was closed for a loss). I've listened to the TAs talk about candle patterns, evening stars, haramis, head and shoulders, cups and handles (do you believe these names?). I don't doubt that for certain types of rolling stocks it works fine. BUT AIN'T A TA GURU ALIVE THAT WOULD HAVE CALLED COCONINO!!

And all one has to do is introduce one scintilla of fundamentals, and the whole thing goes completely out the window. I defy anyone to use TA in the weeks just before earnings reports. Too much randomness for me.

I now use OmniTrader(in conjunction with Telescan) to look at the nice graphics.
