Shalom, You have a number of threads to which you post information, which you obviously do not write....However since you posted the information I am prone to regard it as your post...and for ease of reference just say 'Shalom said...'. If you don't want to take responsibility for all that stuff I suggest you don't post it....HOWEVER I will not again make the reference, my apologies for giving the impression that you actually pointed out, yourself, that Jesus was recruited by the local 'IRA". He was driven into the desert by a need to deal with temptation. It was no planned trip. What would be more of a temptation than being shown a way of gaining it all? Practically what I describe is a more convincing thing to me than the biblical allegory. Over a month is about 40 days but 40 days is far less poetic, less inane, less funny. Revisionist history is in part, a temptation to interpret the past to suit the present. What I was saying is that if we admit to one stupidity we might as well construct a massive one; which is what happens everyday. by the way Christians were responsible for the deaths of the Jews....in a train of holocausts that date back to the time when the Jews were driven from their lands....If Jesus had been a good Jew rather than a religious fanatic he might just have avoided the whole train of events......So why not just blame him for the whole damn thing? Does that bother you? Well it should. It bothers me. Shalom I am not speaking to your religious beliefs. I have tried to look at historical content. You got to understand that. I tried to made that clear to you in one of my first posts. I respect your beliefs. But I'm going to say whatever I want about the guy and I'm going to say it anyway I please.
