650,000. Oh it was sort of extraordinary history and kind of interesting. Small pond. Even our constituion is interesting as even though we are a bright red state our founding fathers were hard core liberals, and brilliant, so we probably have the best constitution in the country. In the 70's liberals gained power once again and worked on the social structure like the permanent fund, Office of Drug Abuse, womens commission (my ex was first chair) and EMS, etc. always fighting the Republicans who never wanted us to do anything but get in bed with big oil. What was also intersting was when we built the pipeline in the 70's. Most of the workers in the labors union were hippies from Alaska. The pipeliners were deep south rednecks. And the labors union is always on the bottom of the status ladder and usually hazed; but our labors union was the most educated in the country because wages were high and all union, so we would not stand for any shit. It was bizarre.
