Cromwell was sent to Ireland to quell the Irish rebellion about 1642....He quelled it alright....Killed many of the land owners, and killed every one in ten citizens...just to let them know there was a new "master" on board....I have one of these fellows - William O'Durgy (now spelled Durkee)....landowner, became a white slave and sent to the Barbados.....He was eventually bailed out (indentured) to a man who who eventually became his father in law....They landed in VA.....
