Read the article I cited. The author specifically points out that a "revived" BAY is gaining from from some but losing it to Cisco. He says BAY has survived the deathwatch but now will be judged on execution.

And there's the downside: Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq, CSCO). To succeed,
Bay needs to defend its turf against the networking giant, which has been gaining on Bay in key markets.

The author details a dramatic shift away from BAY in the hot market for fast ethernet switches:

Bay's share was 57 percent in the first half of 1996, compared with Cisco's 21 percent. By the first half of this year Cisco surged to 43 percent, and 3Com Corp. (Nasdaq, COMS) bested Bay's 21 percent by one percentage point.

From what I am told, Cisco now has over 50% of that market.
