Manhattan DA Prosecutes Law Abiding Citizens While Offering Immunity to Convicted Felons posted by ManyMoose godfatherpolitics.com A month ago, I wrote about ex-Marine Ryan Jerome who was arrested and charged with violating Manhattan’s strict gun control laws. Ryan is a jeweler from Indiana who traveled to New York to sell over $15,000 worth of jewelry. He holds a conceal carry permit in Indiana and searched on the internet to see if his permit would be honored in New York City. His information said it was, but when he tried to legally check in his firearm at the Empire State Building, he was arrested, spent two days in jail and faces felony charges. I learned that Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance is still prosecuting Jerome on felony firearm violations. According to Jerome’s attorney, Vance has offered a plea bargain to reduce the charges to a Class A misdemeanor, a $1,000 fine and ten days of community service. Jerome and his attorney both vow to refuse the plea bargain and fight the charges that they believe to be unconstitutional. While Vance continues to prosecute Jerome for acting as a responsible law abiding citizen, he turns around and offers to purchase illegal guns. The program may sound great, but Vance offers full immunity from prosecution for any convicted felon who turns in a firearm for cash. In Manhattan, as well as the rest of America, it is a felony to be in possession of a firearm. Yet District Attorney Vance openly turns a blind eye to felons turning in guns while he continues to prosecute Ryan Jerome and other law abiding citizens. However, it should be no surprise as this is typical of the Democratic machinery that’s been ruining our country. The White House is actively pursuing measures to take firearms out of the hands of citizens while protecting criminals and even placing them in positions of leadership such as US Attorney General and President of the United States.

As negative as I've been this week, I am not ready to jump ship. Nor am I, believe me... I think there's plenty of us that are discouraged but that doesn't translate into surrender... No, these issues that are affecting us are going to define us as a country later. Those are things worth dying for. We don't know anywhere we would rather live than where we are now. IMO, you'd have to be nuts to go anywhere.... I loved your little spread. BTW, if I was going to throw in the towel I'd move out of California posthaste.....<G>

"Nuts!" ~ Brigadier General McAuliffe, 101st Airborne Division These are great memories and they both were great and brave Americans. Now we need to get it on and use every legal means to right the ship we all know as the good old USA. All of us need to become proactive. Well said UW! I was thinking of the "Nuts" quote the other day as well

Of all people, I would never think you would throw in the towel unclewest. Democrats are the most organized political group on Earth. They have the money, the people, the ability and know how to use technology to win votes, and the will power to set goals and accomplish them. There is no reason republicans can't do the same thing. Republicans need to join forces like democrats have done and work diligently to defeat them at the ballot box. I've chosen to work within the Tea Party movement, but the Tea Party movement isn't standing alone. We are joining forces with other movements and holding meetings where we're finding common ground and drawing up blueprints on how best to share our talents, and resources so that we can defeat democrats where ever they are. So if people want to join their local GOP groups, or conservative groups that is great. What I see happening is a coalescing of like minded individuals and groups with one goal in mind. I just hope more people get involved. I call those who do "troops" and I know the more troops that enlist, the better our chances are.
