I made this point earlier. "Contraception" literally means stopping conception. "Birth control" literally means stopping birth. Contraception is subsumed in birth control because contraception does stop birth. There can be no birth if there is no conception. But there are also post-conception methods to stop birth. So it seems to me that, to be technically correct, any post-conception method cannot be called contraception. The "emergency contraception" notion is an inherent contradiction.
