Yep - if they haven't already started it, since they do take your picture for the membership card, or at least they do at "Sam's Club".

Another thing I have started doing is buying and using the 'shopping cards' at the WalMart. Two reasons - one they give a $.03 gal discount on gas at their stations, and two, there's no direct record of each purchase, as far as a credit card # or checking acct#, they can use to record what you buy each time. Using cash each time would work to, but carrying around enough cash all the time to pay for everything is inconvenient and insecure at best.

It's really scary in a way, what these places can do and it's all perfectly legal. The false sense of security one gets from such things as "Hippa" laws for medical information, for example, is really misleading.

We might as well face facts ... the day of big brother has already arrived. And regulations as far as maintaining data bases, etc, don't seem to matter to much to big brother, who can do about anything they want .... because the people we send to Washington to represent 'us' is all just a farce anyway. They represent themselves - period.

It is no longer of, by or for the people.
