I don't disagree. But insurance companies don't offer any help with that since they just pass on the cost. With today's spiraling cost there is just no way individuals can pay for their own care - without insurance. .........But even the most simplest most basic care doesn't lend itself to the lowest cost is best or better. You cut your knee and need stitches, are you going shopping for the lowest cost? Oh I'm sorry, I'll pass - 40 dollars per stitch is just too much. And then you get an infection because you went to the lowest cost - do you then want the cheapest antibiotic? Never mind that your infection is likely to be a resistant bug and the lower priced antibiotic won't touch it. ........In theory what you say sounds all warm and wonderful, in practice it is naive to think health care is such as easy problem to fix.
