You seem obsessed with Ayn Rand. I suggest you move past her when thinking of Libertarians.

Is Ayn Rand a Libertarian?

She said no. I disagree. This isn't a disagreement about what she thought so much as its a disagreement about what "libertarian" means.

According to this little essay, the Libertarian philosophy has been aound a long tme.

Defined very loosely it might be as old as civilization. Defined more narrowly its been around at least since the opposition to the New Deal, probably longer.

where do you find any time in history where a group of like minded Libertarians come together in a community

There isn't much point to doing so. The state won't ignore you and let you do what you want just because you've joined a libertarian community.

If you talk about pre-modern times, well they had states, and religions with power, and such as well. But governments as extensive as modern governments were not the norm (and didn't exist at all if your not adjusting for the size of the population, but that would be a bit unfair)
