I don't know what may cause the market to start a retrenchment action. CBO came out the other day and said the unemployment number was estimated to go back to 9.2 percent again. The market didn't falter. Foreclosures in housing are still going up. The market didn't falter. The market now knows that good earnings can be achieved without solving unemployment and housing foreclosures. As long as the Fed keeps printing money, the market will do OK.

One thing that is new and might cause the market pause is high gas prices which are fast on their way. High gas prices ripple through all elements of the economy. This situation may make the market hesitate. We will see pretty soon if higher gas prices will stop the advance.
