We live in a democracy. We are the government.

That childish naïveté encourages disaster and is part of the delusions illustrating why democracies are such a sick joke. We're indoctrinated in government schools, then by minions servicing parasites who want to take power from individuals and invest it in themselves. Silly fools who think themselves part of the solutions are unwittingly helping recreate some of the worst evils of the century last.

From our perspective it's easy to sneer at people long gone who once believed in the validity of enslaving what they thought an inferior race. Not so simple! They were people like us, who were immersed in the orthodoxies of their time. It took a better influence, massive bloodshed, and the passage of decades to displace one wrong with right(er).

Hopefully it won't take a century of more before we look back on "progressives" and Democrats (and too many Repubs) as hopeless primitives and rediscover eternal truths in enlightenment thinking once honestly described as liberal.

"We live in a democracy. We are the government."

More delusion koan. We live in a Constitutional Republic. As long as we do we are protected from a loony majority that simply wants what they will not earn. I do not expect it to last though. Our ignorant populace has learned that free lunch is only a ballot box away.

You and yours are a threat to the last hope of the world. Take a bow - the free lunch masses love useful fools like you.

"They can't tell us to do anything. We live in a democracy. We are the government."

They apparently can fine us, put us in jail, take our tax refund if we don't buy/sign up for the new health insurance.
