Mitt is allowing the media to guide his campaign. He always has. The media picked him to win before the campaigns even started, which , frankly, scares the crap out of me. By the way he is tip-toeing around with them, he either knows they have something on him and is afraid they'll 'reveal' it, or he is concerned about what they think about him. If they have something on him, he needs to spit it out NOW, not in mid October. If he is concerned about what they think of him, he's not the guy we need in the White House anyway.

Either way, I am not convinced he can beat Obama, for the simple reason he seems to be letting the media control him .... and we ALL know the media will do anything they can to grease the skids for Obama.

There's going to be some very pissed off Republicans around if the media drags out some sort of old, moldy 'October Surprise' on Romney. Very pissed off.

You hit it on the head. Someone needs to level with him, and let him know he needs to run his own race, and run it balls to the wall against that incompetent imposter we have in the oval office right now .... and ignore Newt, Ron and Rick. If he's not going to do that, then he needs to step aside YESTERDAY and support Santorum from here to eternity.

He will not beat Obama playing footsies, as he is doing now, for sure. Obama will cut both MItt's feet off and laugh all they way to the inauguration balls in January 2013.
