Any individuals vote almost certainly will have no effet on the out come. Not many elections are decided by one vote. Also laws get passed by congress, and each voter only gets to vote for 3 out of 535 members.

Your vote is probably likely to decide who gets elected, then your purchases are to decide what get made available for sale at by major corporations. Are we Walmart because we can very slightly influence it? Of course not. We are not the government either, we get to influence it (with votes, lobbying, campaign contributions, etc.) but it isn't us.
