Actually, if the government wants to give away free condoms and birth control pills, they should be allowed to if the budget permits it. I'm not sure about this; there could be issues there, too. However, I am sure that government should not be in the business of telling private companies what goods and services their contracts must contain. This is no different from a city telling McDonalds it must include certain vegetables in a "Happy Meal"; it simply isn't any of government's business. It is absurd that health insurers can't offer whatever product they want to such that the people or companies buying it can't decide what they do and do not want to buy. There should be outrage about this, but it was a mistake to color it as being solely about religion. Obama, weak as he is, won the negotiation on this deal. Just flat won it. He got 99.9% of what he wanted, and was able to call it a "compromise". There was no compromise. He just said, "Here it is, fuck you, take it or leave it." The man has to be run out of office. People just don't understand how important it is this man not be re-elected.
