Whitetigr,
One note for the record. You say that by my logic, there is no reason to have an attorney for a real estate closing. I am an attorney and I can tell you that exceot in rare circumstances, there is no reason to have an attorney present at a real estate closing. It is a wast of money. You need an attorney when the purchase agreement is prepared. This is where people get themselves into trouble. My first year property professor in law school said "people need an attorney to help them with the purcahse agreement. They can bring a monkey to the closing". He was right.
