There's a big question right now about whether Israel is even ABLE to do a strike on their own.

I have a feeling that Israel's threats to do so may have actually been meant more as a motivating device to get the U.S. and Europe to increase the pressure on Iran.

If so, then they have been SUCCESSFUL. This stuff with Europe not buying Iranian oil and the pressure on "SWIFT" and Iran's banks is really hurting them.

Iran is now threatening to do their OWN preemptive strike. If Iran DID that then the U.S. would be able to HIT them with no real remorse.

Hitting someone when you "think" they may be doing something you don't want them to do is always questionable, but hitting someone when they've hit you first gives a LOT of leeway.
