I read that as cooperation is what made us all what we are today ... and that unfettered capitalism is neither just nor good for civilization.

Survival of the fittest... originally had us competing for roots and grubs... then we came up with the idea of cooperation and civilization.. so that made us the 'fittest' as a species among others.. of course like anything man does collectively, from government to organised religion... we manage to allow a minority to control and pervert it to their benefit.. the curse of man ? We are far from the top of the food chain in isolation... (generally :o)
