It's interesting, but you automatically think I'm anti-corporate just because I follow the science of GW. In fact, I have started several technology companies, and have participated in starting many others. I'm about as capitalist as one can get, as are most people in silicon valley. But we're also typically scientists or engineers, and so we believe in data and in science. Thus you will find virtually no denier types in my world, whether they be liberals or conservatives. You are mistaken to think that everyone who believes in science is some kind of sandal-wearing Marxist. Reality is more complicated than that.

As for tobacco, my grandfather never got that memo it seems and believed it was all hogwash. He died from lung cancer (I am sure he would be a GW denier now). And so did millions of others. It was hardly common knowledge prior to 1970s that tobacco caused cancer. Just like in GW, individual scientists started sounding the alarm way back, but it took decades for the scientific evidence to build up and before congressional action happened. Maybe you were just particularly enlightened.
