Does trading a foreign stock on its home exchange (e.g., FLU.VI) versus trading its counterpart on a US exchange (e.g., VIAAY.PK) have different tax implications? At the very least, it seems you'd have to do some currency conversions come tax time, but are there other things to worry about (foreign taxes/etc.)?

With all equity sectors of the market down today (Dow off over 200), I am getting fills.

In for a few shares of Vienna Airport now.

In for a few more shares of Siemens.

FLU.VI, UPL, WPX
-1) sold some FLU.VI shares at 34 Euro, as they have bounced nicely
2) Swapped my loosing shares of UPL into WPX (also a gas play, spinoff from WMB) harvesting tax losses and possibly creating more. WPX has somewhat more wet gas and some oil (~20% or reserves) and a strong balance sheet. Valuation is good to at 0.7$/mcfe of proved reserves but the spot gas prices need to stop falling...

Vienna Airport/VIAAY. Spekulatius, thanks for that mention. Stock's tripled; I'm selling half my position now.
