That's for sure.

As it happens, ExxonMobil has a deal with Craig Venter to develop (or try) algae biofuels:

If successful, this would be horrible in the eyes of liberal greens because 1) the evil Exxon would be making money off it and 2) the algae would be genetically modified and genetically modified organisms are evil and dangerous per se - this fuel would be denounced as Frankenfuel just as GMO food crops are denounced as Frankenfood. Why they'd be saying there's a danger this Frankenfuel algae would infect all the other algae in the world causing the world's algae to cover the world in petroleum.
