Dividends should be paid to compensate for investors as accelerated growth begins to normalize. I don't think that now is the time to be burning cash with earnings growth still accelerating 50% this year. The biggest problem with a dividend in the near term would be investors freaking out every time their dividend yield began to fall as the share price increased.>>

The timing of a dividend is important. Obama's proposed budget calls for raising the dividend to 39% from the present 15%.

I would support a one time dividend like Microsoft did a few years ago to
take advantage of the tax situation.

A dividend expands the universe of institutions that will, or are even are allowed to own the stock. More investors mean a higher stock price.

In 10 years it's my guess that most companies will be competing for investors on yield, not growth as the baby boomers change their investment philosophy.

Plus, I just like getting checks.
