It could be but I do not think so. The reason, I believe is more
market demand pull related. That is, with big boxmakers buying all
of supply that is available. (If you believe the stories about
Compaq.) The free after market has floated up reflecting enourmous
demand and severely restricted supply. Not all of the restriction
blamable on poor yields.

If you talk to smaller sources, as I do, at the shows; you get a
picture of a very friendly and rapidly growing market for AMD chips.

I suspect that the ommission of the 25% reference may relate to a
decoupling of the price structures when AMD produces chips that have
no analog in the iNTEL line. HOW DO YOU PRICE A 300MHz NOTEBOOK
PART 25% BELOW A CHIP THAT
iNTEL SIMPLY DOES NOT HAVE ????
