Bob: I remember working at a former employer that was experiencing hard times. We had a few large layoffs, etc. Company employed plenty of consultants to tell management what needed to be done. The consultants would come in meet with us to go over detail processes and proceedures and obtain our opinions on what needed to be done. The report of course would have our opinions as the recomendations to be implemented. Senior management was just clueless. The division I was in was eventually sold. The CFO of the acquiring company indicated no outside consultants needed. His comment at dinner, if you didn't know what needed to be done you shouldn't be in the position. I liked him from day one. He is now Chairman & CEO (has been for probably 10 years). Tim
