This is exactly what Obama did with his TV advertisements in the last campaign and did in 2011 with the scare about stopping Social Security.

Recently, I saw Van Hollen, a Democrat in an interview with Ryan, Republican. Van Hollen pulled out the same 'scare tactics' -----------if we don't raise taxes we will have to cut defense and social security.

From your post:

Anita Dunn
- White House Communications Director on her hero Mao Se Tung. youtube.com

"To capture the public imagination,
we have to offer up some scary scenarios,
make simplified dramatic statements
and little mention of any doubts one might have.

Each of us has to decide the right balance

between being effective,
and being honest."

What Dunn is saying in the last part---------is telling lies----little white lies that become big lies.
