Bingo, Kirk, you hit that nail on the head. Like any of the other political footballs that are tossed about, big money talks. The big 3 (trial attorneys, begging for no tort reform; big pharma, looking to stay on the government gravy train; insurance companies whose profits are soaring) have thrown hundreds of millions at both parties, ensuring that you and I continue to pay more for our health insurance so that an ever increasing percentage of the population pays nothing. Folks like you and I, who have high deductible plans and use our insurance sparingly, instead use our resources to keep ourselves healthy. But, as you mentioned, we are subsidizing those who have no insurance, or who overutilise their insurance instead of living a healthy life.
