[Telecom chat]

<<<I'm not sure who the equivalent of Michael Milken (WCOM?) is in the telecom world today, but some strong willed person will find a way to soar over the morass that is today's market for last mile services. TXN/AMTX will provide the tools.>>>

There are a lot of networkers who come to mind, but a telco Milken sounds like an oxymoron. On a slightly different note, I think Engibous has what it takes. He certainly has style and presence. When I saw him in San Diego, waters seemed to part as he walked across the room. Even if I hadn't seen his photo in advance, I'd have known which one he was.

Speaking of strong-willed and charismatic, is there an Iacocca in the telco world?

As for DSPs versus the 80286, do you think it'll take twelve years to reach the same point? The TI article says the market is now at $5 billion and will increase to $50 billion within ten years. Considering they have 45% of the market, that's pretty impressive.
