But merely teaching one's religion to one's children isn't intolerant or absolutant. Wanting to forbid people to teach their religion to their children it totalitarian.

That has to be the one of the dumbest things I've ever seen an otherwise intelligent person say. It's right up there with Hawking's philosophical declaration that "PHILOSOPHY IS DEAD!"
