He did say runaway global warming is already a reality.

And that was 3+ years ago. It appears to me he believes we are well past the tipping point now.

Reducing CO2 emissions is useless once we are past the tipping point.

Hansen said current carbon levels in the atmosphere were already too high to prevent runaway greenhouse warming. Yet the levels are still rising despite all the efforts of politicians and scientists.

Your defense now is that the leftwing Guardian was trying to make Hansen look like a fool.

How about his statement that it's "game over" for the climate if the Keystone XL pipeline is built?

Or his comparison of coal trains to Nazi death camp trains?
