Why use a holding company? I am currently involved in an IPO, where the company decided to go it on their own, after they got a quote from a holding company. It took them 2 yrs. They appreciate everything they learned from their mistakes and they saved lot of money, but they wasted lot of time that they could have devoted to growing their bussiness. While they did not come straight out and said they would not do it again, they now have better appreciation of what holding companies do, and would consider using such company much more seriously. Ed.
