Sonki--- A spider may add some diversification in non-tech issues but I think a (hated phrase coming) mutual fund would offer greater diversification. A riet paying a nice div that has not appreciated a ton this year would probably be my first non-tech choice as real estate has not kept up with demand. A short time ago there were more offices for rent than renters. A lack of building has seen that situation reverse.

I am not familiar with jem. Will look into it this week. It sounds interesting.

Japan will drop Monday and is far from recovery. The 4th largest security firm in that country with offices all over the world is closing its doors. Banks have already failed. The general population is looking for a safe place to put their money besides with security firms and banks. Few will go out of the country as they figure Japan is just first and will impact the rest of the world. The Japanese postal savings is where much will go IMO. I believe Monday will see world markets at least start shakey with the Japanese issue. If Korea does not hold up on govt actions that have taken place the last few days it can get real shakey. As Monday is a Japanese holiday I believe, Tuesday may also give world markets a real hard kick. All depends on govt actions in these two countries. Just my 2 cents worth and is worth absolutely nothing after discounting.
